This upcoming training program is for young people aged 16-29 within the food industry. We’ve run our Yes Chef! program several times in the past and use it to pair young people with professional chefs, servers and front of house staff to explore the food industry.

If you have any young people that you feel would be a good help, let us know!

DO YOU…

  • Want to work in a restaurant, but unsure if it’s a good fit for you?
  • Want to get comfortable reading a recipe?
  • Make some amazing food?

…then this might be the opportunity for you!

Choices for Youth is offering this 3-week skills-building paid training program for youth under 29 who are experiencing employment barriers and wish to explore opportunities in the food service sector. Skills training will cover topics such as food safety and sanitation, nutrition, budgeting and much, much more. This training program will start in September and will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday from 1-4pm.

After successful completion of the “Yes, Chef!” program, participants can apply for supportive employment at one of Choices for Youth’s social enterprises. Unfortunately, those currently receiving EI are not eligible for our supportive training program. Open Houses are held at our Social Enterprise Hub, 117 Ropewalk Lane and attendance is by appointment only to accommodate social distancing.
