CCA partners with 5 low-income Newfoundland and Labrador Housing communities of St. John’s through active outreach, engagements, support and referral. Their goal is to increase the employability, self-reliance and independence of individuals attached to income support or at-risk of receiving income support.

Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador offers over 20 programs and services that help persons with disabilities, ranging from camps, recreational activities, to creative expression through music, dance and art, family events, to employment and educational disability awareness programs. What we do:
Next Steps Employment Service team works directly with participants to assist them with achieving success on their employment journey. Staff can provide help to referred (including self-referrals) participants, such as resume building, job search, job interview preparation and securing funding for upgrading/pursuing higher education.

Stella's Circle is a leading social services agency in St. John's, NL that offers programs for adults who have barriers to full participation in the community, including poverty, homelessness, and health issues. With our help, people can – and do— change their lives for the better.

They offer practical workplace-based learning to suit individual participants interests, needs and abilities.

Participants can engage in a range of options to address their varying needs as they move towards employment.

Adult Basic Education - Level 1
ABE Level 1 offers basic literacy and numeracy education in the supportive environment through delivery of standardized provincial government curriculum. Level 1 is equivalent to grades 1-6 and is offered in small groups of up to 12 students. Admission is continuous intake.

Description:
The Ches Penny Centre for Hope provides two employment programs to people who are receiving Income Support or at-risk of receiving IS.
Building Service Worker begins in September and Retail Skills Programs begin in January. Each program runs for 12 weeks and includes 9 weeks in the classroom and 3-week job placement.
