Community Sector Council - Connect 100
Canadian Career Development Foundation
The Community Sector Council NL’s Connect100 project will distribute at least 100 digital devices to individuals and/or volunteer organizations across the province. Funding has been provided by the Government of Canada's Emergency Community Support Fund through United Way NL.
techKNOWtutors is partnering with Connect100 to ensure all participants have access to free digital literacy workshops, and one-on-one support through phone, text and email.
Connect100 Participant Application Guidelines
Please note: Applications will be approved and devices distributed on a first come, first serve basis. There is no deadline for applications, decisions will be made on a rolling basis. To ensure equity, all applications will be reviewed and assessed based on the following criteria.
Individuals can apply on their own or an organization can apply on their behalf.
For Individuals
To be eligible to participate, you must:
- Not currently own a digital device OR
- Own a device that is more than 3 years old (models from 2016 and earlier)
Individuals must also fall into at least one of the following demographic categories:
❏ Children (0 - 17)
❏ Youth (18 - 29)
❏ Seniors
❏ Individuals with low-income
❏ Persons living with disabilities, including mental illness
❏ Active community volunteers
Preference will be given to individuals who will be utilizing the device for the following purposes:
❏ Education
❏ Volunteering or community contributions
❏ Employment or professional development
❏ Social connection and engagement
For Organizations
Organizations may only apply for a maximum of 2 devices.
To be eligible, organizations should identify that the equipment will be used by:
- Volunteers in their duties with the organization OR
- Community members within an organization’s premises/in accordance with programming
