The Labour Market Information Council is committed to improving the timeliness, reliability and accessibility of Canadian labour market information.

Check out some of their current offerings:

  • Canadian Online Job Posting Dashboard: The Canadian Online Job Posting Dashboard is an interactive tool allowing users to explore timely detailed labour market information related to online job postings by occupation, geography, time period and work requirements.
  • Understanding Skills: LMIC works with many partners – including Employment and Social Development Canada and Statistics Canada – to enhance our collective knowledge of the skill requirements of jobs in Canada. We look at how best to define and measure the skills demanded today and tomorrow.
  • WorkWords: LMIC's WorkWords is an online labour market encyclopedia that provides definitions of key labour market terms, data, uses and concepts.
  • Now of Work: LMIC’s Now of Work Annotated Bibliography synthesizes the latest research findings related to COVID-19
  • Post-Secondary Graduate Earnings: LMIC’s joint research project with the Education Policy Research Initiative analyses the early career earnings of Canadian post-secondary education graduates. The project includes 51 different combinations of credential and field of study. A report, infographic, interactive dashboard and more are available to help readers navigate the findings.
  • Public Opinion Research: LMIC’s public opinion research project aims to better understand the diverse labour market information needs of Canadians. In total, we surveyed more than 20,000 individuals and organizations from 10 user groups. We share these findings through LMI Insights Reports, blogs and interactive dashboards.
  • Future of Work: LMIC’s Future of Work Annotated Bibliography synthesizes the latest research finding. To ensure that policy makers and stakeholders are equipped with needed tools and insights, new reports are added regularly.
