Waypoints is launching Kitchen Skills Essentials program again in May, and are officially accepting applications. Please feel free to forward our digital poster to those who may be interested in the program.

Criteria for the program is:

  • Between 18 and 30
  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Not enrolled in school
  • Ready to work
  • Interested in working in a kitchen environment

Program details:
In this program, there are four weeks of PAID training at both our Churchill Square office and at our Springwood Camp in Salmonier where we have a commercial kitchen (we supply the transportation to Springwood). The participants will train under a Red Seal Chef, and receive a SafeCheck Food Handling Certificate during the program. Following training, we set them up with a 16-week work placement at a facility that requires their new skills (could be a restaurant, deli, food truck, etc.). We do our best to match the participant up with a location that works well for them.

If you have anyone interested in applying, our application is at www.YouthAreWorking.ca/application or you can reach out to me directly for more information.
