CMHA-NL’s At-Work program helps individuals who are unemployed or underemployed find meaningful employment. At Work also connects employers and organizations to skilled employees.
If the At Work Program is new to you, we offer:
- A quick intake process: Response to requests is prompt and in just a few easy steps, an individual’s eligibility for the program is determined. If not eligible, we continue to support them to find the right programs and services for their needs.
- Wage and/or training subsidies: to open more doors to both participants and organizations. Individual wages are covered at 100% for 6-12 weeks.
- Individualized support: we meet people where they are and work one on one to reach their employment goals.
- Partnerships for cross-referrals and resource sharing: working closely with like organizations to ensure maximum success for individuals.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYEES: 16 years of age or older; legally entitled to work in Canada; self-identify as having a mental illness or mental health challenges; unemployed or underemployed; and not currently receiving or have received employment insurance (EI) benefits within the last 5-years (extenuating circumstances reviewed on an individual basis). Must be ready to work or take steps towards employment readiness!
We are always accepting referrals for participants and looking to form new relationships with non-government organizations and private businesses, to connect the right people with the right employment opportunity.
