If career and employment is your are of professional interest then we welcome you to participate in one of our Mentorship Teams, Working Groups or the monthly Community of Practice cafe sessions.
This standing committee is comprised of managers and directors of community agencies who deliver employment supports and services on the Avalon. They meet once a month to inform and direct the overall collaboration.
Community-based Research Group
This working group is comprised of community partners who are actively engaged in community-based research. They meet monthly.
Data, Evaluation & Accountability Working Group
This working group is comprised of community partners who are interested in building community evaluation capacity. This group included Data Mentors who are front line staff with expertise with current data collection software. They support staff across all community agencies with one on one mentoring and small group training sessions which acts as a data community of practice.
Professional Development Working Committee
This committee acts as an ongoing focus group for professional development and training. It identifies skills gaps and create opportunities for collaborative training for career practitioner, managers and directors. It meets quarterly and makes recommendations to the Advisory Committee.
Autism Support Team
This team consists of Career Development Practitioners (CDP) from community, government and post secondary institutions. Their aim is to build a community of practitioners who are skilled at providing career and employment supports for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In partnership with the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, CDP's are working as a mentoring learning network.

Canadian Council for Carer Development (CCCD)
CCCD is a self-initiated and self-funded umbrella group for career development associations and related partner groups from across Canada. It provides a national advocacy voice for career development field and promotes provincial/territorial collaboration on common issues such as certification, training, practitioner mobility, quality service indicators and building the career development evidence base.
Canadian Career Development Foundation
The CCDF is a non-profit organization that works to advance career development and the capacity of the profession to respond with compassion and skill to all clients and stakeholders in an ever-changing work environment.
International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance (IAEVG)
